So for years I have wanted to do Vlogs in addition to my normal blogging. I have some great ideas on things to discuss and also simply ranting or sharing a bit more of me. I am on the verge of buying a better entry level video editing software than iMovie and windows movie maker. I have both on different machines. I have been told the current Final Cut Pro is a no no. My favourite choice is to buy Adobe Premiere Elements. I am just unsure if I should buy the 10th edition or wait 1 month or 2 for the 11th edition to service. Also adobe can do great bundles and I have seen the Adobe Photoshop Elements with it as a package deal. I need to decide buy now or wait and pay more for some newness.

I have quite a few devices that can be used for recording video. One is not HD but picture quality is decent enough in the right light. I will do a post soon on the equipment I have currently and what the tech geek in me wishes she had. Saving is so long but you do appreciate the things you end up with in the end. I kind of wish the UK had a lay away system from what I remember in my youth in LA. Pay for it bit by bit by x date and its yours. Which is kind of like a pardna system West Indians use to save from the days when no one would give them a bank account. My West Asian friends tell they too have a similar system but I cannot remember the name.

So I have digressed a little bit. Anyway my Vlog channel is SoFrolushesTV. I decided to make a separate channel because everything in one Goo

gle basket makes me nervous. Now I just need to put up my 1st video. I have some old videos I have made but I will do a fresh one.

If you do vlogs please let me know any tips you can offer.

A parody of reality

One of the people I follow on twitter tweeted this video by @Chescaleigh. It is called "Shit white girls say to black girls". Now I have seen some response videos that completely miss the point whilst others have expressed that it has been an eye opener. The part of this parody I relate to the most is the hair issues. In previous jobs schools I have had question after question thrown at me about my hair. These hair questions and the want to touch come hard and fast whether I wearing my own hair or extensions I bought. I have no qualms telling people when I have extensions that it is not mine but it becomes tiresome when everyday you are asked the same questions. Thankfully the last group I worked with had a more mature attitude and did not have desires to get in my hair with their fingers. But imagine even if it is not yours it is attached to you. I have had hair issues with other non African Diaspora races too. Having said that I know a few Black people that did not realise I had so much hair. Shame on them!!. 

Trivial things that have been said to me is that my own hair reminded someone of their pubic hair. Another lady touched my hair and was like "oh its so soft", as if it was not going to be. Anyway if you have not seen this video take a look. It has gotten 3million views so far. The original video that has started  whole wave of these videos is called "Shit girls say" and is also worth a look.

Jamal Edwards SBTV

Have you heard of SB.TV? Well I am always browsing the pages of Madnews blog and have come across their name a few times. I watched the documentary about them and their I believe website launch a few months ago. It was very interesting to see how everything came together for the young lad and his team. Now Jamal Edwards has been featured in Google current video blog. This infomercial style blog has been featured during prime time TV shows and has been the feature video on YouTube. I  find this refreshing to watch as currently many have slated young people as lazy good for nothings. However through Jamal you see the other side of the spectrum A young lad doing something he enjoys and well on is way to become an entrepreneur like Richard Branson who he has met and has somewhat of a cameo in the below video. I may just take occasional peaks now. Oh and definitely check out their "About us" section you will be amazed to see how far reaching they are interacting with grass roots organisations in the community that hopes to bring about positive change and recognise those who do. His mum Brenda Edwards who was a former X-factor finalist must be so proud of him. Well done Jamal!!

A search journey

I am always on YouTube and happen to watch a really cool video by one of the makeup gurus I often watch. The end of the video showed that it was made using Google Search Stories. So I figured I may as well have a go. The video below is my end result. What do you think? Have you done your own? I might just do another one as judging by the ones I have seen it is quite a fun application.
