The Original Sugababes Are Back MKS

Back in 1998 Mutya, Siobhan and Keisha formed a group called The Sugababes. In 2000 they released their debut single Overload which was a hit. However shortly after the album was released Siobhan Donaghy left the group. The remaining members were than joined by Heidi Range who was from another girl group called Atomic Kitten. This became a very successful trio and they went on to make hits and sell albums. The line up changed again in 2005 when Mutya left the group and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. Then in 2009 the last founding and original member Keisha left the group amidst some controversy. She announced her exit on twitter. I still feel she was pushed out of her own group.

The most controversial thing of all was that the Sugababes continued despite not having one original member in the band at all. There was a court case to decide name ownership which did not turn out the way I would have thought. I guess record companies sorted such issues a long time ago.

Anyway fast forward to 2013. The original trio are now simply called Mutya Keisha Siobhan or MKS for short). They announced awhile back when the copyright issue was going on that they were re-forming. They have released a video for their new single "Flatline". It is a very nice song and their vocals have definitely improved over the years. When you compare Overload to Flatline you can definitely see the growth in them. It does make one wonder if they all left due to record comapny interference in their sound etc. I wish them all the best.

Check out the new single plus the original single below.
