Sleek BB Cream Review

Below is a video I did of the Sleek BB Cream. I bought the shade in medium. I was initially skeptical of how such a limited shade range would work for me but was assured months ago by a blogger what shade to use. During the UK summer it can be very humid and I wanted something to use tat was lighter than a foundation. I still prefer my current fave foundation. However this product does what I need it to do. As for helping with blemishes I have not monitored that aspect so can say.

My Purple Lipstick Collection

So it seems purple is one of the Autumn seasons colours. This suits me just fine as purple is my favourite colour. Please watch the below video to see my small collection of purple lippies. I have also included some swatches below with and without flash.

The shades are listed below and in the pictures start from the top to the bottom. I think next time I will have to try do lip swatches or use the length of my arm. I didn't think I would do much makeup but my friends see a hidden talent.

Revlon - Va Va Violet
Sleek - Amethyst
Marks and Spencer - Dark Pink
MAC - Rebel
Kate by Rimmel - 04
MUA Lip Boom - It's a Situtation
DKNY Lipgloss - Delicious Night (came in gift set with the perfume)
Rubie and Millie - Purple 57

Sleek Good and Bad girl palettes

I heard about these palettes from my favourite beauty bloggers and some new ones I never knew of. Not to mention Sleeks marketing team that make good use of twitter. When I first saw the palettes I was unsure if i would purchase both. I tweet often when a new palette comes out that i do not need it.

The Bad Girl palette reminds me of the Smokey Eye palette. The colours are different but not so different that it was a must buy. The Good Girl palette is the most original for me. Just full of pretty varying shades of pinks, corals and light reds. It is missing a truly darker contouring shade but not really missed. Especially if like me you most of the palettes Sleek have released.

I have worn looks from both palettes to work and got compliments all day long. When I wear shades from Bad girl many colleagues ask me if I am going on a date after work with hubby. Whilst Good girl tends to bring compliments on how vivid the colour shows up. Both palettes are packed full of pigment and worth every penny.

I would have waited until the 50% one day sale Sleek Makeup are having on the 11th November but I just know the website will crash. Sleek have some serious stan fans of their products. I will just wait for the natural/nude palette that via twitter they told me will be out soon.

Purple Lips

I almost forgot to mention that I bought two purple lipsticks. I was given a few options on twitter and here. I ended up buying Va Va Violet 663 by Revlon and Amethyst 825 by Sleek. I had them for a few weeks and love them.

I do intend to get hold of one of the colours suggested by Miss Virtue after all it is nice to have MAC in your collections. Have you found any nice purple shades? Please let me know.

UPDATE 11/Dec/09 : I have tried several times to do swatches and they seem to disappear with the flash. I have been given tips by the lovely people on twitter so hopefully I will master it one day. Sorry not sooner. This would be a tragedy if I was a beauty blogger.

Sleek Pout Polish 2

You know what. I think I really like this product. So much so that I went and bought the other 2 colours. If I like something I tend to buy all colours. Imagine if I could buy MAC products every month. I would be able to rival some of my fave beauty bloggers.

Anywho. The other colours I bought are called Perfect Plum and Electro Peach. They smell so nice.

Sleek Pout Polish

I am not typically a fan of lip colour that comes in jars or on palettes. I just don’t get it. However I thought as it is Sleek I will try them out. I bought two so far. The colours I bought are Pink Cadillac and Chocolate Kiss. I seem to have a thing for pink and brown when it comes to lip colour. My lips are naturally brown and pink. I have those two tone lips but they do not look off key.

Anyway I have used these two for the past week and I really do love them. The pink looks shocking but wears so beautiful. I tried to do swatches but that just did not work. The texture is like a more pliable Vaseline. My lips feel gorgeous so I cannot complain. I will buy the other 2 colours very soon. I think the orange will look amazing on me. Have you tried these? What do you think of them? Is there any alternatives by other brands that I should consider?

I paid £6.99 for two so hopefully that offer is still on when I am next at superdrugs.

Sleek Lip Glosses

I really would love to get back into Lipsticks. I have loads around the house. I am sure some need throwing out. I have given some away too. Though I am think nothing beats a brown lip liner with a clear lip gloss or any shade that suits you.

I already owned two high shine lip glosses by Sleek The colours I have are Honeycomb and Champagne, though I am sure I bought Kinky. I follow Sleek Make up on Twitter and found out about their Wonder last duo lip gloss. It comes in two parts. The colour which dries to a matt finish and then a clear gloss to add sheen and moisture.

I do like these but you have to remember to top up the gloss as and when, or else your lips feel chalky. Unfortunately I can not tell you what the colours are as the two I have do not have colours written on them. I love both of these colours and pinks and browns are 2 glosses shades I will always buy.

So regardless of brand if you know a good brown or pink lip gloss that would suit brown skin let me know.

Sleek Makeup

I know I am really not supposed to buy anymore makeup. However there are like 1 or 2 items I do want well rather need. One being an ink or gel eyeliner such as Mac Fluid lines or Sleeks Ink pot.

Anyway I was out with friends and just thought I would go and have a look in Superdrugs to see if Sleek is still there going strong. Yes they were still there indeed. I so love their Divine Eyeshadow palette. It was last years Christmas when I made my purchase and there was only one. Now there are 3 palettes to choose from. Good move, after all variety is the spice of life, so they say.

I am so glad they decided to re package and bring out new products. Sleek has been an established brand since 1989. Their headquarters and origins are in London UK. I always thought that Sleek was new in the late 90's but they have been around for awhile. They have aims to move forward.

I like the fact that they are super affordable and now I don't even have to go to the (not owned by us) hair shops to buy it. I mean when I was in Brixton's Superdrugs I got all giddy and just bought 4 products. Oh they had offers so I was like what that cheap but the colours are amazing. The same thing happened today. But I am more cautious of my spending (details well some will follow when the time is right).

Please excuse the way the picture look (I quit A-Level Photography through boredom). The top palette with the natural range of colours is called 'Storm' and the bottom palette is called 'Original'. Green is my fave eyeshadow colour at the moment and 'Original' has 3 different shades of green. Lovely. The other palette is called Chaos but I was not feeling those colours at all. They might warm to me by Christmas.

Note to self - STOP buying makeup and use what you got.
