Unthinkable renditions – Alicia Keys

I have had Alicia’s Keys album for months and have not really listened to it. I tend to listen to 2 of her singles and let the rest of the album lie low. Well browsing a site I frequent often I 1st stumble upon Teyana Taylor giving her own rendition of this song. She sings it well. It got me thinking as to why I have never heard this song before. Oh yeah that’s right its because The Element of Freedom has not really got much if any airtime on my airwaves. The song will possible be the next single featuring Drake. I honestly do not see the point of Drakes ad libs at all. Was it really necessary for him to get a nod on the single. After all, he is only doing what any accomplished background singer would do. The plus side is that the song is a better offering than the duet with Beyonce ‘Put it in a love song’.

Now I do wonder with her pregnancy confirmed by her PR team or whoever. Her now more public relationship with a man who was married during most of the courtship who she is now going to marry. It makes me wonder if this song just coincides with how she sees the choices she has made. She chose to be number 2 now she is 1, but has to deal with 2 baby mothers, one being an ex – wife who has not much if anything good to say about her. mmm.

Two lines in the song which I find interesting giving her current situation is

“You give me a feeling that I never felt before
And I deserve it, I think I deserve it”

“I was wondering maybe
Could I make you my baby
If we do the unthinkable would it make us look crazy
If you ask me I'm ready”

Mmm. Well in many people’s opinions she has done the unthinkable and moved on. Maybe she just took a chance on married love. As for the bloke he shares the blame and now he potentially will have 3 children 3 baby mommas.

Anyway check out the multi-talented vocals of Teyana Taylor and Keke Palmer giving their renditions. Which do you like best and how does it compare to the original for you? If only Brandy would do her own rendition because she can sang a song.
