I saw a few tweets about this and thought to check out Tyra’s twitter page to verify the info. It turns out to be correct. Tyra tweetedso... it's true ya'll. The 5th season of The Tyra Show will be it's last. I wrote a letter to all of you:

So like her mentor Oprah is leaving daytime talk TV for a more behind the scenes role in television and media. Tyra will be following suit.
All I can say is for the shows I did get to see, Tyra show was interesting. She tackled many taboo subjects such as black women and their real hair, white women wearing weaves, issues with identity and a whole host of other stuff. Her topics were varied and always got people talking.
Do check out this article by Wall Street Journal. Which I think sums it up nicely. As long as America’s Next Top Model does not come to an end I will deal with this nicely!!
Hmmm I won't miss it. I found her presenting style awful and some of her guests bordered on Maury quality on some of the more controversial topics.

I liked the talk show, as you said Lush, she was able to talk about some race issues still taboo in our society especially in America. I even thinks that some of her topics were more profound than Oprah's. I wish there were more interesting shows like those ones than only Big Brother...
ReplyDeleteOprah is Oprah. she almost done 25yrs compared to Tyra's 5 yrs - topics change as audience grows. if rating were not such an issue to Tyra she should have stayed a little longer. I remember when Tempest from Cosby show had a show. Oh well as long as antm keeps going I am cool with that.
