Pause - tech

Just letting you guys know that I am still here. I will be back in a few weeks sharing my thoughts and reading the beautiful blogs by you.

My laptop has died it seems. I was browsing then up came that dreaded blue screen of death. Now there is no screen lightening up but the hard drive is running. I will take it to the computer shop.

Enough is enough though. I have spent a bit on it during the last few months. So I have ordered a brand spanking new desktop PC. As I do not have the cash in hand I am buying it via finance. My aim to pay within 6 months so not to pay interest.

Next year or by christmas my laptop on the other hand will be upgraded to a mac book. Fingers crossed. Work mates say Macs are the technology worth investing in.

Anyway I will be back in a few weeks!!!!

Fantasia is going back to school

I was just watching the weekend edition of E! News and Fantasia was talking about getting her high school Diploma. She said she will be getting a tutor to help her all the way. I am so proud of her. She may catch the learning bug and end up Dr Barrino.

Apparently her journey into getting her diploma will be made into a reality TV show. This hopefully will inspire people to get their education while you can.

I wouldn't mind getting a masters than a PHD myself. Doctor SoFrolushes sounds really good. Don't ya think?!

Noel Clarke wins a BAFTA

Noel Clarke is the brains and creative force behind the teen movies Kidulthood and Adulthood. He has various acting, writing and directing credits behind him. He is now the proud winner of the Orange Newcomer British Film Awards. He is due to star in two films this year which according to the IMBD website, are Heartless and Doghouse.

I do wonder if he will put out another sequel to his "hood" films. Parenthood would be a nice addition to conclude with. This man is inspiring and because he has achieved so much so far, it is so easy to try place him in one place. But his CV shows he is versatile young man. We need more black men like him setting the standard for young boys and girls in the UK. A bit of hard work and commitment can take you places.

Check out his website and imbd

Listen you're over weight do something about it!!

You know I have heard this for years and now it has become tiring. When I was a size 12/14 I was always told I was overweight. Always called fat big and broad etc. I am only 5ft 1" , but I carry curves well. Notice what I just said.

Indeed I have put on some weight a few stones a dress size or maybe 2 dress sizes but you would think I don't know. I am well aware of my size. After all I buy my clothes and not only that I see my naked body in the mirror each morning. I think I need a shirt that says " I know my body thanks for observing". Or maybe a satirical phrase.

Back in the day I was just this short curvy girl that had everything in the right place. A bust that women pay for (still do) and a lot more going on than a coke and a smile. Big Grin I got all the male attention I wanted and did not want. Having said that men still find me attractive, but it is not about them. It is about me and the way I feel.

I went from being this girl who hated her above average boobs, who did the tomboy thing. To this sister who loved every inch of her. I didn't quite get to the point of saying I love me and blowing kisses in the mirror though.

Now I am actually what some and the medical world calls fat. Yet when I spoke to my cousin, she was like but everything fits in. I have shape and what not. Then the other day I get given a straight to the point lecture!! Was basically told my weight is out of control and that my health will suffer. I get told this all the time. No one seems to believe that I am trying to get healthy. I am trying.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to lose between 3 and 5 stone. 5 may be too much. 4 stone which is equivalent to 56 lbs would do me just fine. My main issue is that I am less active though. So I need to get active. I have some DVD's and a cross trainer at home. Got to use them. I am even considering buying Leg Magic.

As I managed to lose 5lbs in the summer through Weight Watchers I will be starting this plan again but from home. I will not be attending meetings. I feel I can do this and tweak it to suit me. I got a workmate to buy me the 2009 deluxe starter kit. I buy the magazine and also Slimming World's magazine. I am actively making packed lunches and adding fruit. I can do this. I just need people to stop telling me they are watching me. After all I live in this body and carry it around each and everyday.

As well as reading I have been watching videos on YouTube and have started doing Pilate's via DVD. Now everybody sing

You can do it put your back into it!!!Open-mouthed

February snow!!

On Sunday went to church as usual. It was so cold outside. I almost thought to myself I should be staying inside. However I was ready and off I went. By the end of service snow was lightly falling. It is beautiful to look at it when it is light.

By early evening the snow was picking up some pace. Everywhere is covered in snow. I was just so amazed to see it coming down thick and furious. I woke up this morning to the chill factor of thick snow. I had to spend a few minutes getting the snow of the windows . So what do I do? I open my car door turn on the wipers and end up covered in snow and the inside of my car too. I just was not thinking. Maybe the snow clouded my brain lol.

Last time I faced driving in the snow, I was skidding and quite scared. This time I made sure I got to the main road ASAP. Driving was a breeze. The place just looks so bright and frosty. The weather reporters say more snow is eminent but it will change to sleet than rain to wash it all away. I do not think I could manage Canadian snow.

As for London. Oh my days!! I just have to wonder why is it so easy for London to come to a stand still. There is no reason for the nations capital to be brought to a standstill. Public transport not looking so great now huh. Plus the strikes against the Italian foreign workers at the refineries are walking up and down in the snow.

Anyway I am fully prepared now and have bought myself a winter essentials car kit. I know I should have bought it when winter began, but hey. It comes with 1 litre screen wash, 400ml deicer spray, lock deicer, scraper/squeegee/sponge, chamois di-mister pad and a bottle of WD40 spray. All for just £9.99 from Halfords.

Listening to the news now and apparently there is more snow to come. Russia threatens our gas supply with their feud with their neighbour. Now they have given us their snow. LOL.

Alexandra Burke's Brother now under attack!!!

Ok so you have them investigating her mother. Now they are investigating her half brother. Apparently he is meant to be working illegally. In the UK you cannot work unless you have a permit to do so. Sometimes you can be here legally but told no work for you.

So that is basically what the articles I am reading say. Alexandra's brother is here legally. Though someone has snitched on him for working. He has a child. If the government does not illegal workers why don't they allow people to work. Most of the illegal workers take up the sweat shop jobs. Picking veg, factory work and cleaning.

People need to leave Alex and her family alone. All she did was win the X factor and got props from Beyonce too. People need to stop hating and leave her alone. Surely it is better he is working and not doing something illegal.
